Olivia Archbold On Britain's Got Talent

Olivia Archbold

BRITAIN'S Got Talent singing sensation, 14 year old Olivia Archbold from Newton Le Willows, Cheshire, has talked about how her jaw-dropping performance was inspired by her grandma Elsie who sadly died six months ago aged 84.

Olivia sang a spine-tingling version of Sarah McLaughlan's Angel. Wearing a lucky charm given to her by her beloved gran, Olivia said: "I sang Angel because sadly my Nanny Elsie passed away at the end of last year. Angels were very close to her heart and every so often she would give us a little charm of an angel to keep us safe and to watch over us."

Afterwards the judges (Simon, Amanda and Piers) were all united in their praise for the young schoolgirl, wh is already drawing comparisons to Charlotte Church.

Simon Cowell told her: "I'm so impressed with you, Olivia, I can't begin to tell you."

Olivia's performance now looks set to make Olivia hot favourite to win the show and walk away with £100,000. She added: "If I won I would give the money to my family. They would benefit most, as times have not been the easiest lately."

"I was so nervous seeing myself on TV, I watched half of my audition behind a cushion.

"I am a bit overwhelmed by it all, but it's wonderful. I watch Britain's Got Talent every week. To see yourself on television auditioning in front of the judges and audience so was weird. My dream would be to sing like Leona Lewis, she is such an inspiration."
